Christine A. Moore Millinery, a top tier millinery and hat company, is energetically expanding and continues to grow in the fashion market! From the explosive Kentucky Derby hats to regular hip street wear, Christine A. Moore loves that her company is a “niche” business! Hats are a powerful fashion category, from fancy to casual, and Christine A. Moore Millinery does it all fabulously for both women’s and men’s hats (Men’s – The Blake Collection). Recently Gossip Girl and other TV shows have picked up her hats and, for the second year in a row, Christine’s hats have been part of the official Kentucky Derby artwork that is featured on all race memorabilia. For two years in a row, the Today Show has called Christine A. Moore the “milliner of the Triple Crown”. In social circles, Christine A. Moore has found that her hats are the one to be seen in – from New York to Chicago to Los Angeles to Naples, FL. In the fall of 2009, Christine A. Moore was proclaimed as the Official Milliner to the prestigious “Hats in the Garden” luncheon benefiting the Naples Botanical Garden! Christine developed her talent and love of the art of millinery in the theatre. After studying costume design in college Christine landed her first professional job as an assistant costume designer at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia. There she was introduced to the art of millinery and quickly found an apprenticeship with a theatrical milliner. Christine was soon able to take millinery jobs of her own at professional theatres up and down the East Coast, and traveled from city to city creating hats for various productions. In 1990, Rodney Gordon, the top milliner for Broadway, asked Christine to come to New York City to work as his assistant. With Rodney she worked on many Broadway productions – Phantom of the Opera, Crazy for You, and Will Rogers Follies, to name a few. In 1994, Christine began fulfilling her desire to start her own business and approached Henri Bendel Department Store. They instantly put the collection in their famous store and Christine’s theatre days were behind her. In the years that Christine has been following her dream, she has sold to stores all over the world. Her hats have been featured in many publications, including Harper’s Bazaar, Allure Magazine, Marie Claire, and the New York Post (see below for more). In the past five years, Christine A. Moore has been on the Martha Stewart radio program and has been seen on many television programs from New York to Louisville, including two Kentucky Derby news spots filmed in her NYC studio. Christine has also developed a list of celebrities that wear her hats. (Cynthia Nixon, Halle Berry, and Diane Keaton, among others.)
